As part of the effort to establish a sustainable, cutting-edge educational product, Our Lady of the Lake has a unique school governance model that allows an elected School Board to have a more prominent role in working with the Pastor to govern the school.  These bylaws have been approved by the Archdiocese and are available for anyone to review.

Board Members

Brett BroghammeR, CHAIR

(FINANCE SEAT 2017 - 2019)

My wife Carolyn and I both grew up going to church here, we both went to school here (as did our 4 children) and we were married here.  Needless to say, OLL has been and continues to be a big part of our lives.  I would be honored to work with the school board and Father Tony to continue to build on the tradition of excellence in education and the development of kids with high levels of spirituality, moral standards and character.

MADDIE SWANSON, Vice Chair & FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEE CHAIR

(fINANCE SEAT 2018-2020)

I grew up as part of the Our Lady of the Lake Parish and attended school at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School as a child. My husband, Derek, and I are active members in our parish, currently participating in the Teaching Parish Committee (TPC), were previously a part of ALPHA, and were RCIA sponsors and Faith Formation catechists. I am a Financial Management graduate from the University of St. Thomas.  Post-graduation, I worked as a Project Controller at Kiewit Corporation and then held the position of Sr. Accountant at Ryan Companies.  I now own and operate a small business based out of Winsted, Minnesota called Structural Supplies Incorporated, where we manufacture deep foundation materials.

I believe that I would be an asset to the school board in the finance seat. I do not currently have children enrolled at OLL, yet I am committed to my faith and Catholic education and feel that I could add a unique perspective to the board. I firmly believe in Catholic school education and I am honored to help continue the quality of education at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School.  Praise God, Work Hard, and Love One Another!

Gretchen Chilson, Education Subcommittee Chair

(EDUCATION SEAT 2017-2019)

I have been a member of the OLL community for 12 years, along with my husband, Bob. Our twin 9-year-olds, Jacob and Robbie, are 3rd graders at OLL, and our youngest, Miles, will start preschool at OLL in 2020.

I am a teacher in the Westonka School district, directing 5th – 12th grade bands at Grandview Middle School and Mound Westonka High School.

My volunteer work to support OLL has included junior high Youth Group, Vacation Bible School, School PTO, and various church and school fundraisers.

For the past four years, I have served on the Education Committee of the OLL School Board. It has been my pleasure to use my experience as parent, teacher, and volunteer to support the parish and school in this role, and I hope to continue serving.

SALLY SERIE

My name is Sally Serie.  My husband, Alex, and I have been members at OLL since we moved to the area in 2014.  We have two young children, Lucy & Max, who are just starting out at OLL school.  After attending 17 years of Catholic schools myself (Good Shepherd, Benilde-St. Margaret's & St. Norbert College), I know how a strong Catholic education can foster the best within our children.  We want our children and yours to know the ways of the Church and be a symbol of Christ's love in the world.  We know that with Father Tony & the wonderful teachers at OLL, they will learn this on a daily basis.  As a Realtor, I am deeply invested in improving our community and supporting in the next generation of community.  As a member of the school board, I would work collaboratively with the church & school to support the strong education which we love about our school.  My children are young and we hope to continue to grow with the OLL community!
