School Board

As part of the effort to establish a sustainable, cutting-edge educational product, Our Lady of the Lake has a unique school governance model that allows an elected School Board to have a more prominent role in working with the Pastor to govern the school.  These bylaws have been approved by the Archdiocese and are available for anyone to review.

Katye Miller, Chair

(Finance Seat 2025)

My husband Brian and I are parishioners and school parents with two sons, Finn and Riley, at OLL. I attended Catholic schools from kindergarten through college, and am a strong supporter of Catholic education. I have a bachelor’s degree in Economics, previously earned my Certified Financial Planner™ certification, and have over ten years of experience in finance working with various wealth management firms including Morgan Stanley. I look forward to serving Our Lady of the Lake, and am grateful to be a part of this very special community.

Gretchen Chilson, Secretary

(Education Seat 2017-2025)

My husband Bob and I have been members of the OLL community for 18 years. Our sons Jacob and Robbie attended OLL for six years, and our youngest, Miles, is in Kindergarten at OLL. I am a teacher in the Westonka School district, directing 5th – 12th-grade bands at Grandview Middle School and Mound Westonka High School. For the past several years, I have served on the Education Committee of the OLL School Board. It has been my pleasure to use my experience as a parent, teacher, and volunteer to support the parish and school in this role, and I hope to continue serving.

Connor Sir

Finance Seat (2022-2024)

I attended Our Lady of the Lake School from preschool through eighth grade. After graduating from Mound Westonka, I attended the University of Saint Thomas. I work as an employee benefits consultant in Minneapolis working with employers on evaluating their budget and allocating dollars towards caring for their most important asset, their employees. I married my wife, Paige, at OLL in October of 2021 and bought a home within the Mound community. I am drawn to the opportunity to join the School Board to be able to give back to a community that has always been generous to me and to build upon the work the board has done the last few years.

Beth Frye

Fundraising Seat (2019-2024)

I am excited for the opportunity to serve on the OLL school board. Catholic education is very important to me. I attended Catholic school for elementary, high school and college. My husband Larry and I have sent our 3 children to Catholic school as well. The Catholic community embodies the core values we have strived to teach our children. Larry and I are realtors with Keller Williams Realty Integrity Edina. I also serve on the board of Key Community Bank in Inver Grove Heights. Thanks for the opportunity to help build a strong Catholic community here at OLL school. Sincerely, Beth Frye

Ginger Skaja

Education Seat (2022-2024)

I am honored for the opportunity to serve on the Our Lady of the Lake school board. My husband Randy and I have been members of the parish for nearly a decade and have two sons that attend elementary school at OLL. My interest to serve the students, parents, teachers, and community of OLL comes from the enriching experience our sons have been blessed with at OLL along with my 23 years of professional experience in education. My professional background includes a BS degree in Communication Disorders, a Master’s degree in Education, and MN teaching licenses ages 3-K and K-6. My passion as a parent, along with my extensive background in education, provides a well-rounded experience to serve and share on the OLL school board.

Rachel Iversen

Marketing Seat (2022-2024)

I am the mother to three beautiful children, 1 is currently in preschool at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School. I have an extensive background in international business and am a certified yoga teacher and private business owner. With my background, I understand the importance of educating and developing the whole individual, which is why I am passionate about my children attending OLL. I love that my children are receiving an academically competitive education that is simultaneously Catholic and faith-based. The opportunity to be able to serve in assisting and reviewing the implementation of educational programs for our wonderful school is especially exciting. In addition to my family and health & wellness, my passions include hiking, gardening, and of course anything that involves our wonderful Lake Minnetonka and the local community.

Melinda Young

Technology Seat (2022-2024)

I am very excited to be joining the OLL School Board. I have been part of the OLL community for many years. I worked as the OLL Middle School Math Teacher and Technology Coordinator from 2012-2020 and now my daughter, Molly, is in preschool at OLL. My husband, Cole, and I have lived in Mound for 7 years and love the small lake community we have in town.

I am currently the 7th Grade Math Teacher at Watertown-Mayer Middle School. As an educator, I know the importance of technology in the classroom and how it is ever changing. I am excited to help the OLL staff and teachers create 21st century classrooms with the best technology available.

Talia Hindi

Marketing Seat (2023-2025)

A Mother first, I reside with my beautiful family in Mound, MN. A community I am grateful to be a part of, whether boating – enjoying a relaxing Sunday at Birches or volunteering at my children’s school Our Lady of the Lake! My prior work with the St. Paul Police Department required a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Notions I carry with me, still. When serving my community, I find honor in doing so with a calm & professional mindset. My primary focus is to provide a safe & healthy learning environment for all students.

Maggie Sartori

At Large (2023-2025)

Throughout a decade of guiding teams through innovation, improvement and transformation, one of the most important things I have learned is this: at work and in life, we thrive when we are striving together toward an inspiring vision of the future. Our Parish and School have an inspiring vision and would love the opportunity to support the School as a member of Board in the At Large Position. As a working Catholic mom of three, I care deeply about their experience and developmental journey where and how we spend time. Our family strives to live with visible faith, contagious joy, and a genuine trust in Jesus Christ.
