I have been at Our Lady since 2015. Previously I worked at Holy Family Catholic High School with the titles of Mathematics teacher, department chair and learning specialist. I love using my deep understanding of high school to work with the teachers and students to ensure that we are preparing our students for their next step in education and life. I’m a firm believer in teaching every student where they are at in their education and celebrating everyone’s successes. This is just one reason why I love the Blended Learning model. My husband, Nathan, and I have three beautiful children, Kinley, Callen, and Kilian. I grew up in Deephaven and attended St. Therese School. I have completed all of my post high school work at University of St. Thomas. My undergraduate work was in Mathematics and secondary education, masters was in Special Education and my post masters is in Education Leadership.

I have been a parent and volunteer at OLL for 14 years. I have a BS in Marketing from Clemson University. I have 3 children-Madeline, a junior at Holy Family Catholic High School, Patrick a freshman at Holy Family Catholic and Betsy a 7th grader at OLL. My husband, Jerry and I choose Catholic Education for our children because we wanted them to have a Christ based foundation in life. I am thrilled to work in an environment that teaches the whole child: mind, body and spirit.
I look forward to the exciting future of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School!
I have a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota, Moorhead. I am licensed to teach grades 1-6. I have been subbing at OLL for the last four years. I have also been a part time teacher at OLL teaching first grade language arts and math. I have three children--one is currently at OLL and two have graduated and moved on to Holy Family. I am so pleased with the faith based education that my kids have received at OLL. One of the things that I like about Catholic education is the strong tradition of faith based education. I am glad that I can work at a school that combines education with christian values.
I have taught preschool at Our Lady of the Lake Preschool for 7 years. I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Kindergarten - grade 6. I love teaching preschoolers because of their sense of curiosity and excitement for learning! One reason I chose to teach at OLL is because of the wonderful sense of community between our families and school staff. I feel blessed to be able to teach children about Jesus :) and find it rewarding to watch them grow in God’s love.

I joined the Our Lady of the Lake family in 2015. I Love working with a very supportive staff and families I have a BA in Family Life Education from Concordia - St Paul and have 20+ years of experience teaching preschool. I love working with preschool children and their families. Preschool children are so excited to learn and explore the world and I enjoy being with them at the start of their educational journey. When I am not working, I enjoy knitting, geocaching and spending time with my friends, family, husband and three children.
Why am I a Preschool teacher at OLL you may ask? I do it because I view each and every day as a GIFT from God! Your children are a treasure. I appreciate teaching in Catholic schools because I can share God's love for us. I also appreciate this unique and wonderful age where children are discovering the world around them and view things with such wonder and humor! Each day brings me joy and laughter! I am a mother of 4 grown children, 2 dogs and one fat cat who rules the world. I have a Master' s degree in Education from Boston University and an undergraduate degree from the College of St. Benedict's/St. John's University. OLL is a special place and I hope to see you somewhere along our educational journey!
I have been a teacher for 25 years, with 20 of those years at OLL. I have a BA in Elementary Education (Licensed for Preschool through 6th Grade), a BS in Psychology and a Minor in Art. I am currently the Kindergarten teacher at OLL. Kids are so eager to learn at this age and are constantly striving for more knowledge. This keeps our environment always revolving and adjusting to their many needs. I have taught in both public and parochial schools and have found my place here at OLL, where I can easily share the teachings of God in every aspect of the curriculum. By modeling the teachings of God, I can see the children evolve in their faith throughout their years here at OLL. I know how important this school is and I am honored to be a part of it!
I graduated from St. Catherine University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-6) and a STEM endorsement in 2014. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. Although I have not been teaching as long as other teachers here at OLL,--take out this sentence I have a passion for working with students. Ever since I was in first grade I have wanted to be a teacher. I believe students learn best through hands-on experiences and interactive lessons. I love using technology such as the smart boards and Chromebooks to create fun and engaging lessons. I enjoy watching each student grow throughout the year, observing their relationship grow with the Lord and finding their strengths and interests along the way. When I am not in the classroom I love to do photography, arts and crafts, ride horses, spend time with my family when they are visiting from Missouri and catch up with friends.
Katie Brenny, 3rd & 4th Grade
email@example.com | 952.472.8233
I completed my undergraduate education degree at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. After graduating, I taught fifth grade at John Ireland in Hopkins. I then took a youth ministry position at St. John the Baptist Church in Savage. After three years of youth ministry, I wanted to return to teaching. I accepted a job at St. Stephen's in Anoka. While working at St. Stephen's, I completed my graduate degree in Educational Leadership. Since I was driving over 80 miles a day to and from St. Stephen's, I began looking for something closer to home. I am fortunate to have found my working home here at Our Lady of the Lake. I have enjoyed working here since 2015 with the great OLL community. In 2016 I married Troy Brenny and we became members of OLL church. We are expecting our first child this year and are super excited to continue to add to the OLL family! When I am not learning, I enjoy time with my family, traveling, reading, being crafty, and watching or playing sports. I look forward to working with life-long learners in my classroom!

Melinda Young, 7th and 8th grade homeroom, Middle School Math, Testing Coordinator, Technology Specialist
email@example.com | 952.472.8237
I graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in 2011 with a BA in Elementary Education, with a concentration in math. I am licensed in K-6 Elementary Education and middle school (5-8) Math. I have been at OLL since 2012 and I am enjoying every minute of it! I believe in creating an open and fun learning environment in all my classes, while bringing real-world experiences to the classroom. I do this through technology-based curriculum and the flipped classroom model. When I am not working, I love to read, watch movies, travel to new and exciting places, and hang out with my husband and my dog.
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Washington and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of St. Thomas. After working in the public school system for a couple of years, I made the wonderful switch to OLL and Catholic education. I have been at OLL for 21 years and thoroughly enjoy teaching middle school social studies, religion, and science. I approach every group differently depending on the learning strengths and talent areas of the students. My goal is for all students to be successful and challenged. Most importantly, I love watching our beautiful, talented children mature into creative, considerate, responsible leaders who love the Lord.
I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. I have taught music and band in several different schools including Holy Trinity in South St. Paul, Maple Lake Elementary, and Aspen Academy in Savage. I started teaching band at OLL in 2013 and am excited to add the Pre K through 8th grade music classes to my schedule. I absolutely love being a part of the OLL community and being able to share my Catholic faith and passion for music with the students.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, running, and playing the piano.
I have been a member of the Our Lady of the Lake and Mound, Minnesota community since moving here in October of 2013. I'm married and have two daughters who attended both Catholic grade and high schools. In those years, I was heavily involved at their schools either as a volunteer or in an official capacity as a 1st grade teacher's aide or after school care program leader. Having moved several times over the years, I've experienced a number of different schools and styles. I try to incorporate the best of what I have seen and learned during those years in addition to a strong Christian attitude and sense of community to create a program that makes it easy for your child to have fun, socialize and learn.
I grew up in Duluth and am a graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth. From 2003 to 2013 I taught Sunday school, faith formation and Confirmation to kids aged preschool through eighth grade. Our family moved from Chisago City to my husband John's hometown of Mound in 2014. We have two children attending OLL and two in high school. I began work at OLL in 2015 as a preschool aide and librarian. I also received training from the Archdiocese to become a certified substitute teacher. I now work full time as a preschool assistant teacher. In Spring 2017 I completed undergraduate courses in Learning Environment and Curriculum for the Young Child and Heath, Safety and Nutrition for the Young Child. This fall I begin a Master of Arts in Teaching program at St. Mary's University. Here at OLL we have the privelege to educate kids in mind, body and spirit while also sharing the Catholic faith. I like to get to know our preschoolers, help them develop their abilities and friendships and to share about God's love for them. I am thankful to be a part of Catholic education both as a parent of students and as an assistant teacher. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, camping, boating and reading.
Kathy Cleveland, Preschool Aide
firstname.lastname@example.org | 952.472.8243
Hi my name is Kathy Cleveland. I am working in the pre-
school with Mrs. King. Before coming to OLL, I worked at St. John the Baptist in. Excelsior for five years. Prior to that, I worked for Minnetonka Early Childhood Family Education for fifteen years. I love being around kids because they help me stay young at heart. I have been happily married for 39 years to John. We have three married children and our ninth grandchild is
on the way. The oldest grandchild is four years old and is
a student at OLL. All of our grandchildren live very close
to me, which is a great blessing. I love to go on long walks and long bike rides with my husband. I also enjoy cross country skiing and skating. What makes me really happy is spending time with my grandchildren. I love working with OLL’s youngest students because I love being a Catholic. What a beautiful faith we have; to be able to go to mass and receive Christ in the Eucharist. What a beautiful gift it is to know in my heart that no
matter what happens, Christ is right at my side with all
the graces to get through whatever I am facing.
Rhonda Dolan, 1st and 2nd grade Classroom Aide
I am very excited for my new role as 1st & 2nd grade classroom aide at OLL this year, after a great year as an OLL preschool aide during the 2016-17 school year! I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood from the University of Iowa. I have 4 years experience teaching in grades two and three. I also have 2.5 years experience teaching in preschool. Most recently I was a First Grade reading and math paraprofessional. I enjoy reading, walking at the Arboretum, and spending time with my husband and three daughters.
I’ve been teaching at Our Lady of the Lake since 1999 when my children were young students here. I started out working as a resource teacher and in 2003 accepted the art teacher position. It has been a wonderful opportunity that has allowed me to combine my faith, love of art, and passion for education. Arts education is essential to children's development and I love nurturing students’s creativity and guiding them in exploring ways of expressing themselves. As Title I teacher, I work with students to improve their essential reading and math skills in one-on-one or small group settings where each student's unique learning style and abilities are recognized and valued. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this wonderful, faith-filled school.

I am excited to join the OLL community for the 2017/2018 school year as your child’s Physical Education teacher and 5th-8th grade Health educator. I received my B.S. in Elementary Education K-6 from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN. in December of 2014. Since graduation I have held several long term substitute positions in the Hopkins and Westonka school districts. I have lived in the Westonka area for 21 years with my wonderful husband, Barney, and 4 children, Emily, Sam, Ashley, and Shelby.
My educational philosophy holds the belief that students learn best when allowed to construct knowledge through discovery and practical/personal application. I believe that with support, all students can be successful and grow in their God given gifts.
I enjoy camping, hiking, all things outdoorsy, upcycling stuff, drawing, painting, photography, and decorating for Christmas. I have recently challenged myself to adapt a healthier lifestyle according to 1 Cor. 6:19-20. I am eager to guide and equip your child to make healthy choices that strengthen body, mind, and spirit.
